In contrast to the newest USDA nutrition guide, the “Food Plate,” introduced in 2011 by Michelle Obama, this USDA 1943 “Basic Seven” wheel includes butter as one of the food groups and doesn’t include any suggestions on controlling portions. talesofdrunkennessandcruelty said: There’s no reason to put meats and beans in the same group. They’re both rich in proteins, but unlike meats, beans are rich in fiber, nutrients, good cholesterol, and LOW in fat and bad cholesterol. Meats might as well be put with butter.
